Curriculum
The modules in this one-year program will lay the foundations for your understanding of the world of journalism, and more importantly, how to train the essential skills to become an international journalist.
EDJ's approach aims to emulate the working day of the newsroom as closely as possible; this is a highly practical course. After an intensive introduction to the basics of journalism you will be sent straight out into the field to practice the craft. Your interpersonal, analytical and technical skills will be honed, as will your ability to work efficiently and produce quality work to tight deadlines.
You will also have the chance to broadcast and publish your work, through EDJ's own student-run media outlets.
In second semester, the knowledge you've gained will be condensed into preparing for your dissertation and practical project. This independent research project on a topic of your choice will let you show off the skills you've been training over the last semester.
The course also has a beginners' French language and culture module each semester, to help you interact with the locals and integrate into the city and its culture.
