International trade has strongly increased, markets have converged, ownership structures have shifted, consumer behaviour has changed, and new media products and business models have been developed. The Media & Business programme allows you to explore these developments and the ways in which media firms and other companies adapt to altering business conditions and new modes of communication and business.
As part of its distinctive focus on the labour market, the Master’s programme fosters close collaborations and engagement with the media industry in the form of ‘real-life’ cases and projects, guest lectures, and thesis internships. Students can join two different Honours Projects and also have the opportunity to extend their study to go on exchange.

This programme is fully taught in English.The premaster programme for the Master Media Studies in Rotterdam is a highly intensive one-year course preparing you for the Master’s programme Media, Culture & Society or Media & Business. You will learn about statistics and acquire academic skills, write a large number of essays and, to top it all off, conduct independent research. Clearly, we expect a lot of you. But your efforts will be rewarded when you can start the Master’s programme in the following year. The English premaster programme has a limited number of 25 spots available each academic year.
