Who is eligible?
- Those who hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an institution of recognized standing (transcripts required) are eligible.
- Applicants with degrees in other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines are encouraged to apply and may be required to complete undergraduate mechanical engineering courses before official admission into the graduate program.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required.
- The GRE is required, or TOEFL scores for international students.
- Additional coursework may be required as prerequisites upon faculty review and communicated with the student prior to official admission to the graduate program.

Curriculum
- For the M.S. non-thesis option, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level (6000/7000/8000) graded course work, including:
- A minimum of 21 credit hours from MECH 6000/7000/8000-level coursework
- A minimum of 9 credit hours of elective graduate courses in science/engineering
- For the M.S. thesis option, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level (6000/7000/8000)course and research work, including:
- A minimum of 15 credit hours from MECH 6000/7000/8000 level graded coursework
- A minimum of 6 credits of MECH 7990 (Thesis & Research). (Thesis topics must be approved by the student's advisory committee.)
- A minimum of 9 credit hours of elective, graded graduate courses in science/engineering
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level (6000/7000/8000)course and research work, including:
