Introduction

The Professional Music Teacher Education (PMTE) program at Oregon State University is a competitive, selective, and rigorous program of study designed for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in music or music education.  The program results in a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and an endorsement toward an Oregon Teaching License.  Candidates must also successfully complete and pass the edTPA portfolio assessment during the course of their student teaching internship, which is scored by external evaluators.  Begin by reading the PMTE Application Instructions.  This document contains links to all of the information and supporting evidence that you will need to submit as part of the application process, including information about applying to the OSU Graduate School, which is a separate process.  This documents also outlines the requirements for admission and provides a list of general procedures that comprise the admission process.
