The Master of Science in Architectural Engineering is offered through the Architectural Engineering and Construction Science graduate program. The minimum requirement for course work is 30 semester hours of graduate credit with options as specified in this catalog and required undergraduate work in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and subject to the approval of the department. Depending on the selected degree options a student has a significant range of elective courses from which to choose with the approval of the student’s graduate committee. The program is structured to permit the student, by diligent work, to complete the M.S. requirement in one calendar year. Substitution for one or more of the specified courses may be made if the department judges that equivalent study has been successfully completed. A combination B.S. and M.S. degree program is offered to undergraduates in Architectural Engineering (ARE) at Kansas State University. This professional M.S. degree challenges top students in Architectural Engineering with research experiences, faculty mentoring and advanced course work. The program allows the student an opportunity to specialize in an emphasis area of systems engineering applied to building design and analysis. -

Our department offers an accredited 3-year Master's degree in Architecture (M. ARCH), developed for students entering with a previously completed bachelor's degree in a program. Applicants with previous degrees in design will be viewed on a case-by-base basis. Years needed to complete the M. ARCH may be reduced from the three-year-plan. Accredited by NAAB, and incorporate coursework in architectural design. -

The non-baccalaureate professional graduate degree track in interior architecture & product design is a five-year program (a one-year environmental design studies program is followed by four years including a summer course of study) and results in the Master of Interior Architecture & Product Design (MIAPD). It is designed for students entering with no academic training in interior architecture & product design. The department’s five-year program of study is one of the first curricula in this profession to be recognized and accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) in the United States. -
