The field of global health is one which focuses on improving the physical and mental health conditions of people around the world. Topics of study may include community health, sociology of health and illness, public health, psychological factors in global health, leadership development, and health systems management.

Taking into account the policies of the Institution regarding the permanent updating of educational programs that guarantee the quality of our graduates, the Academic Committee for the Curricular Design of the Master in Public Health, of the UACJ, has worked since January 2015 to specify the efforts and take advantage of the experience obtained by managing to develop a new professional Master's degree, in order to train human resources with innovative capacity in their professional practice, capable of responding to current and future problems posed by public health and that prevail in this border region. Nowadays, Universities must capture and include in their curricula the training of graduates with the needs of society, the challenge involves generating a dynamic postgraduate curriculum in Public Health, capable of recovering and educating interpreting the changes in the fields of public health, so that the education provided has relevance, coherence and transcends time, always thinking and adhering to the current and future requirements of the population, who have stopped acting passively, therefore, demand better health systems. In this order of ideas, the curriculum is the expression of the University-Society link, and society demands public health, an attitude of service that supports open and flexible communication with the community; to work as a team with their peers and other figures of the health team, in addition, to support health analysis and decision-making in new technologies and the application of scientific tools. Education in public health, with an appropriate approach, is a strategy to strengthen the capacity of society, by training professionals who can integrate into the health system and reduce inequities in health, efficiently and effectively. It is considered that the creation of the new Master's program in Public Health is a prevailing and essential condition to comply with the commitments, recommendations, and national and international pronouncements linked to the development objectives, established by the different health and accreditation bodies of the medical education in public health. -
