To provide prospective students with opportunities to find out about the RCA experience and programmes we run a number of on-campus and online open daysas well as events in various countries around the world. You can find out about upcoming events or watch replays of past open days on theRCA website. The MA City Design envisions new concepts of city and urban life by placing design speculation at the core of social innovation. City life is undergoing momentous change. New forms of urban development and technologically driven forms of social innovation are transforming the way we live, work, reproduce and take care of the world around us, producing new lines of social solidarity as well as new sites of social conflict. Yet most of the methods used to research and design cities have resisted change, thus limiting our ability to perceive relevant changes and conceive radically different futures. MA City Design believes in the unique capacities of design to conceptualise and propose new and original models of living in cities. It proposes an approach to city design education that unites architectural, social sciences and scientific research. The programme is site-focused and design-led and students have the potential to engage with NGOs, policymakers, government and industry. Our Industry Advisory Group is a consultative forum that supports the continual improvement of the MA City Design programme and ensures its relevance to ongoing problems and issues in city-making globally. Meet the RCA We host a range on online and on-campus open days as well as recruitment event in cities around the world. These events caninclude 1-to-1 meets and portfolio advice, informal chats, presentations and sessions with staff, students and alumni. Check theCheck the RCA event webpagefor details of upcoming events. -

The Master in Challenges of the Cities is a commitment to joint training of the universities of Galicia and the north of Portugal. Its purpose is to obtain synergies from the experiences in higher education courses in the fields of the city, development and planning, in order to provide solid answers to the challenges in these areas at a regional level, both in Spain and Portugal, as in other countries, especially in Africa and Latin America. Everything suggests that in the coming decades the urban population will continue to grow even in areas of the world, such as the European Atlantic, where the urbanization rate is high and population variation is minimal. The inhabitants, in the era of digital knowledge and hypermobility, need to identify the urban demands of the near future. Understanding the transformation of today's cities, and the actions that are reflected in them, requires information, disciplinary knowledge in multiple fields, and openness to innovative solutions that integrate the various areas of knowledge. -
