Introduction

Maybe you’ve got the next app idea, or perhaps you want to take a traditional media industry leader to the next level. Either way, are you ready to create the media’s future? In 11 months, the Boston University Master of Science in Media Ventures teaches you the skills, strategy, and process of developing your ideas to build a successful career -- and create the media’s future along the way.

STEM eligible. No GRE Required. Scholarships available.

Develop Your Idea in Boston (fall)

Take your idea from concept to launch and learn the marketplace, industry, and product validation process. You’ll focus on how media content, products, and technology are used in tandem to create new innovations, business opportunities, and revenue generation. The fall semester examines media trends, where the industry is going, digital innovation, and how you can play a key leadership role in assessing & defining opportunities for new media products and businesses. You’ll also start developing an idea for the capstone thesis project.

The Los Angeles Experience -- Pitch to Experts in LA (spring & summer)

Your time in L.A. will be split between taking classes and interning at media and digital innovation companies – one internship in the spring, and another in the summer. You’ll gain valuable industry experience and grow your network. In July, pitch your idea to a panel of leading tech and media executives, investors, and entrepreneurs in Los Angeles. MV faculty, COM alumni, and biz-savvy mentors coach you through the process, one-on-one.
