In recent decades, enrollment in tertiary education in Uruguay has expanded dramatically, which is why there is an increasing need for higher education and research institutions capable of training a greater number of highly qualified people.
Faced with this reality, from the 1990s on, the Crandon Institute began to contemplate the possibility of offering tertiary-level courses with an adequate curricular plan, as a complement to the educational offer it had until then.
This vision is what gives rise to the IMUC, which represents a way to further consolidate the presence of the Institution in the community and in the national educational sphere, thus responding to new demands and its permanent commitment to society.
