About us

Founded in 1994, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria has grown to become a beacon of high-quality education in Austria. It boasts four faculties, over 70 study programs, and roughly 6,000 students engaged in various disciplines. What's more, with over 27,000 illustrious alumni, we take pride in being Austria's strongest research university of applied sciences!

We are constantly pushing the boundaries by ensuring knowledge and research-driven teaching, and by contributing a third of the total research output among all universities of applied sciences in Austria.

Scholarships and Funding

The University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria charges tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs as follows:

  • For students from EU and EEA countries: EUR 363.36 per semester + ÖH (Austrian Student Union) contribution of EUR 22.70.
  • For students from non-EU-member states: EUR 726.72 per semester + ÖH (Austrian Student Union) contribution of EUR 22.70.

There is a Merit-Based Scholarship for excellently performing students. It is awarded once a year, to recognize academic achievement and performance during studies. It becomes available only after the first semester and covers approximately half of the tuition fees.
Large companies (Energie AG, voestalpine, etc.) and interest groups (Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, etc.) award individual grants for diploma theses and dissertations among other things that are of particular relevance for their areas of interest. Inquiries must be made on an individual basis.
