Introduction
From touch screens and cameras in mobile phones to highly automated robots in modern production facilities: it is obvious that sensors and their applications have become a key part of technology in engineering.
According to the current development, a major part of the prospective growth in this industry will be in Asia. Siemens, Bosch or Intel: many companies have just started to shift their production and research facilities to Vietnam and there is already a shortage of highly trained professionals. This is a good reason to participate in the career possibilities. In close cooperation with the industry, MSST responds to the demands of the job market and provides superior graduates to create the technology of tomorrow. This program opens up the excellent job and research opportunities for students in many branches of this industry like microelectronics, automotive, environmental technologies or automation.
This is the essential principle of intelligent action. Human life would never have come so far if we had no eyes, noses or ears to capture our environment. Just like humans, modern technology cannot get along without sensors anymore. They are found in every branch of industry. Smartphones detect the position of our fingers, the airbag of a car releases just at the right crash-time and a manufacturing robot autonomously fits a part in the right place. Compared to the development of modern microelectronics, there is a backlog demand for sensor technologies. In fact, the quality of automated systems is rather limited by the lack of an appropriate sensor than by insufficient signal processing.
