Graduates with degrees in pharmacology and the life sciences are finding a challenging and changing landscape when it comes to their careers. This requires a broad skillset and a practical mentality, which is becoming harder and harder to find.

The people who enter this program come with a scientific background and already have completed advanced degrees (Ph.D., PharmD, and MSc in biological and chemical sciences). This program allows the participants to develop real-world business skills, develop professional networks, and exchange with senior business professionals who have deep industry experience.

Program objectives

  • To master and understand how the forces driving science, technology, and business interact in the real world to influence decisions.
  • To enable graduates to gain practical knowledge and skills in biotechnology management to become more valuable to employers, enhance their career prospects, and develop their core competencies.
  • To train a highly qualified managerial staff capable of analyzing and appreciating the relationships between technology and productivity along the value chain of the organization.

Testimonial

"The GEM Bachelor in International Business program has been an incredibly rewarding three years. I chose this program for its focus on internationalism regarding study and work opportunities and have been able to live in four countries because of this.

My two internships in Germany and Italy broadened my professional experience as well as cultural understanding, and my exchange to Singapore let me partake in academia in an Asian setting. And between these moves, Grenoble became my home where I could practice my French surrounded by mountains.

I am proud to have attended GEM and to be associated with not only with a school which values diversity, but with an international student body and a worldwide professional network."

Testimonial

"Prior to the MBA, I worked in the Indian pharmaceutical industry, handling doctor and patient programs integral to the marketing function. Though this rich experience, I realized how difficult it is to get even the most basic primary healthcare and medication in developing nations at affordable rates. This revelation inspired me to enroll in the GGSB MBA.

In order to get the most out of an MBA, beyond the course content, the setting, experience and type of interactions are of utmost importance. This is why I chose France, which has been at the forefront of building policies and structures for global healthcare, education, and human rights.

My most important MBA program criterion was a well-balanced, comprehensive curriculum taught by international faculty and offered by an accredited school of management with a good overall ranking. The class profile was another important factor. Experienced, mature individuals from different backgrounds add value by creating real understanding of the cultural nuances that play an important role in global business today. GGSB scored in these all aspects.

After my MBA, I intend to work with pharmaceutical companies wanting to establish mutually beneficial relations with developing nations – especially in Africa – to build efficient systems that make quality, affordable healthcare accessible."

Testimonial

"The MSc Business Development exposed to a very challenging environment in which I excelled both academically and personally. The study trip abroad to Japan was a real highlight of the program, combining an enriching cultural immersion and many corporate visits.

I also feel that being in group of 43 students from 23 nationalities greatly enhanced my interpersonal and intercultural skills as well as building my international network.

The Live Business Case was a very rewarding aspect of the program which involved working with consultants from real companies over the course of 7-8 months. I worked on the Schneider Electric business case and at the end of the first academic year of the program I received an internship offer from Schneider. It was clear that the MSc Business Development had already greatly increased my employability.

Since then I have been working as a Business Developer in an innovative department called Shore Connection at Schneider Electric. It has also been a great opportunity to practice my French. I am convinced that this Master’s program has provided a lot of added value in terms of career opportunities and opened doors for me which previously were inaccessible."

“The MSc Finance provided me with a solid systematic knowledge of both Corporate Finance and the Financial Market.

I particularly enjoyed the study-friendly, cooperative and very international learning environment. Being in a class of 17 different nationalities helped me to cultivate my cross-culture communication skills, which have proved essential to me as I enter the globalized world of business. The program enabled me to enhance my theoretical knowledge, whilst at the same time gaining practical experience, which has largely improved my competitiveness and employability.

After taught part of the program, an alumnus presented me with the opportunity to do an internship in Deutsche Bank within Wealth Management Department in Luxembourg. One year later, I moved to London and started my first job in Bloomberg in Financial Analytics and Sales department.

As a GEM graduate I continue to benefit greatly from offers of employment around the world from the School’s careers centre service and I also feel that the alumni network is continuously being strengthened over time, to the advantage of all graduates.”

Testimonial

"Running my own business has always been my dream, which is why I decided to study entrepreneurship. I chose to do my master’s degree at GEM due to its notoriety in the field of innovation and its consistently high rankings among top business schools worldwide. Not only was I taught by excellent professors, but the atmosphere among students and teachers was both impressive and enriching, especially due to the diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds.

The combination of entrepreneurship and innovation provided me a more advanced insight into the business world and in particular the startup community. Many of the professors lecturing on the program are deeply involved in the startup scene, which was a real selling point for me. The Silicon Valley trip was another major highlight, which included visits to major corporations such as Google and Facebook, as well as other leaders in the field if technology.

Overall this program was an invaluable experience that is already paying off for my career path. The automotive industry has always fascinated me and I am now working at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, selling cars to the region of Latin America. Furthermore, the knowledge I acquired on the program has enabled me bring innovative approaches to my own family business specialized in real estate. On top of that I am also working on a startup which I started with a friend I met during the program in Grenoble! All in all I consider that my time at GEM to be the most important in my life so far and I feel glad that I chose this business school and this program in particular."

On top of that I am also working on a startup which I started with a friend I met during the program in Grenoble! All in all I consider that my time at GEM to be the most important in my life so far and I feel glad that I chose this business school and this program in particular."

Testimonial

"After having worked 8 years for a national insurance company in HR related positions, I decided to deepen my HR expertise at a top business school ranked by Financial Times, namely Grenoble Ecole de Management. The MSc IHRM program offered a great combination of HR fundamentals and specialized courses which met the expectations of both newcomers to the field and experienced professionals.

A small class enabled the professors to cater to each student's needs. A key highlight was the class diversity which empowered me to learn what cultural competency really means in practice and also equipped me with the skills to successfully work in a multicultural team. This cultural exposure prepared me perfectly for a career in a multinational environment.

In particular courses such as self-development, organizational development, leadership, change management, the organized outdoor team activities, and also the career service center, all supported me in securing my current job for one of the biggest consultancies worldwide, Accenture Consulting.

Working now as a Senior Management Consultant in Change Management and HR Transformation, I can state retrospectively that this program had a major impact on my professional career development.

Besides professional and personal growth, the intensive working groups helped established an interpersonal connection amongst the fellow students that remains strong even today."

Testimonial

"As a graduate in International Relations with 5 years’ work experience promoting International Education in Mexico, I recognized that to enhance my business acumen and career opportunities, I would my need to follow a Masters degree.

The MSc Marketing at Grenoble Ecole de Management offered an ideal academic and cultural opportunity to study in English at a top business European School.

Over the first year I gained vast and invaluable knowledge from an excellent international faculty and enjoyed studying in such a multicultural group.

During the second part of the program I felt privileged to be able to access the European job market and find an internship at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a French technology company operating in over 100 countries around the world.

An international career had now become open to me as my internship turned into a job offer and I joined the Marketing and Communications division at the headquarters in Paris.

Why choose the MSc Marketing Management program?

Program

This program is designed around core competencies you will need in developing a successful career in marketing; it covers 4 major areas: digital marketing, strategic management, marketing management and core business skills in 17 courses. Specific areas such as research, consumer behavior, and customer relationship management are also covered.

Course content places emphasis on current trends in marketing, as well as key issues that marketing professionals face.

The program combines academic theory and a practical approach through case studies and real live examples to provide a hands-on approach.

The continual development of critical thinking and analytical skills enables graduates to make sound strategic marketing decisions at managerial level in an international environment. The MSc Marketing Management also focuses on soft skills such as presentation techniques and intercultural communication - indispensable assets for effective management in multicultural environments.

Program Content*

The first year of the Master is a full-time year in Grenoble or Berlin.

The program covers four key areas of study for Marketers, each of the 17 modules follow a logical connection to the one before.

Year 1 - Campus Year

Introduction & Integration Week

Teambuilding event - meet your colleagues, find out how you will work

Digital Marketing

Marketing Management

Core Business Skills

Capstone Course

*The content of the program may be adapted from year to year to take into account the needs of industry. Class attendance is compulsory.

Year 2 - Final Management Project

At the end of the one-academic-year full-time part of the program, each student will be required to complete a Final Management Project of approximately 15,000 words in length, under the guidance of a tutor. This is an applied or theoretical research project that can be completed at a distance and in parallel with full-time employment or an approved internship. To successfully complete the Final Management Project, students are required to address a particular research question or knowledge gap in their chosen field of their study. This will be business oriented and coherent with the program's objectives. A student may choose to write their project on a topic grounded in their internship experience.

Integrative Marketing Case Study

Using an existing business, the Live Business Case will provide the students with the opportunity to reflect on and integrate all aspects of the taught program. Students will analyze a specific marketing problem in the company and use their skills and knowledge to contextualize issues and propose solutions. This takes place in small groups and in a limited time. Assessment for the case study will be based on a group assignment with a group presentation to the Company.

Foreign Languages

The program is taught in English but provides the possibility to learn a foreign language at the same time. No prior knowledge of French is required to attend the program. Learning a foreign language is a recommended (but not compulsory) program option for all students who are looking to work internationally. Non-French speakers have the option of studying French (beginner to advanced level), while French speakers may choose from a number of other languages at the beginner level.

Examples of MSc Marketing Management Graduate Internships

Accor Hotels, Adidas France, Altran, Amadeus SAS, British American Tobacco, B-Sharpe, Bulgari, Cartier International, Chanel, Coca Cola, Danone, Google, Hewlett Packard, HSBC, L’Oréal, Mondelez International, Nestle, Nike, Nissan, P&G, PWC, Salomon, Schneider Electric SAS, Siemens Transmission & Distribution, Tommy Hilfiger, Volkswagen, Warner Home Video, Xerox Research Center Europe

Soon after, I was offered a promotion to the position of Network Partner Programs Director and moved with Alcatel-Lucent to Milan, Italy. Thanks to my experience at GEM I now felt equipped with the international qualification and network to drive my career forward and reach unimaginable places."
