Platforms such as YouTube will undoubtedly play a huge part in the future of filmmaking and distribution. Thanks to the world of online sharing platforms, content creators no longer need to ask for permission for their content to be broadcast and shared – they can reach their audiences directly.

It is this ‘no permission needed’, democratic, proactive approach that truly captures the spirit of Met Film School, attracting those with a passion for filmmaking and a strong desire to succeed.

It’s not just through equipment and space that Met will pass on the benefits of this partnership to our students. Students and staff will also benefit from the organic collaborations with other YouTube creators that will occur at the Space.

The partnership is aimed at delivering mutual education and providing a space for creative collaborations. YouTube creators will learn from the production and technical expertise of Met Film students, and on the other hand film, students can learn from YouTube creators on building their own channel. For filmmakers, this can be a great way of getting insights in how to create an audience online and tell stories in a different way and for YouTube creators, this can be the chance to gain additional filmmaking skills.
